Why remove sugar from your diet?
Hello and welcome to this sugar free with hypnotherapy blog. There are different types of sugar free diet from removal of food containing high amounts of processed sugar to complete removal of sugar (including natural sugars that are found in fruit called fructose).
There is a well know principle called Pareto (otherwise known as the 80-20 rule) which identified that roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. It works with most things, we tend to wear 20% of our clothes most of the time, eat the same meals 80% of the time etc. What this means in simple terms is that in most cases, to make the quickest and biggest difference, you focus on the single biggest problem. For many people, eating processed sugar is the biggest problem in their diet, so removing this gives big benefits to their health quickly.
When we eat sugar it makes our blood sugar rise and our body produces insulin to combat the raised blood sugar levels. This causes a sugar crash when blood sugar levels are lowered leaving us want more sugar for the energy and ‘high’. Some studies have shown sugar to have a similar effect on the brain as cocaine. It is not good for the body to make more insulin that it would naturally need.

Maintaining good control of blood glucose levels, as well as blood pressure and cholesterol levels, is vital in reducing the risk of diabetic complications.
